Br Olivier Poquillon op of the Dominican Province of France has been appointed as 'Permanent Delegate of the Dominican Order at the United Nations'. He is based in Geneva in the Dominican Network Delegation.
He is a lawyer, specialising in international law and has worked in Geneva and Iraq. The objectives of the Delegation include 'to respond to requests for presentation and/or intervention at the appropriate diplomatic mission and/or UN body, regarding critical country situations where Dominicans are involved; to link with Dominicans working on justice, peace and human rights issues eg in migration, children, health, torture, the right to development'. He plans to offer internship programmes in collaboration with the JP Commission of the Dominican Order.
