Our Mission
- Chapter Commitment 2005 -
We renew our commitment as Dominicans to
preach the Gospel message of truth, justice and compassion, recognizing
that we do this most authentically by who we are.
- We will create opportunities for deepening our theological understanding,
particular in the areas of
- the summons to preach ... which is ours by baptism and our Dominican
profession
- the status of women
- interfaith dialogue/relationships.
- We will develop ways to deepen our Dominican Spirituality and communio.
- We will examine our attitudes, and implement structures for inclusivity,
within and beyond the Congregation.
- We will take steps to increase our visibility through a more clearly
defined and distinctive Dominican stance.
We will work for the transformation of ecclesial, social and economic
structures of oppression, globally and locally.
- We will identify and nurture the signs of new life, prophetic vision
and action in our midst.
- We will continue to discern and take action around issues of eco
spirituality and sustainability.
- We will review our leadership structures and processes (including
those of Chapter) to ensure that they promote most effectively our
identity and mission.
